In Loving Memory

Reinhardt, Ann Marie (nee Wachter)

Ann Marie (Wachter) Reinhardt, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 11th fortified with the final Sacraments in unity with the Holy Catholic Church. Beloved wife of the late Hubert Reinhardt, loving mother of Diane (Raymond) Finocchiaro, Kate Reinhardt, the late Laura (Thomas) Wiley, and Mark (Annette) Reinhardt, cherished Grandma of Taylor (George) Reinhardt/Boden, Grace and Jonah Finocchiaro, and Evan and Olivia Wiley, and dear sister of Carol (Melvin) Herr and Jack (Carol) Wachter, dear daughter of the late Marie and Rudolph Wachter, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, godmother, cousin, and friend of many and stranger to no one. She will be survived by our fondest memories in the hearts of all of us who loved her dearly.

Graduated from St. Elizabeth’s Academy, Ann met the love of her life at a singles dance at the Casa Loma Ballroom, and they both enjoyed bowling so much that Ann and Hub held their wedding reception in a hall at Tropicana Bowling Lanes in June of 1961. Retired from Dillard’s of 20 years, Ann was a devout Catholic, avid gardener, loved to dance, play cards and laugh with her many close friends collected throughout her life.

Ann wished to donate her body to science through the St. Louis University School of Medicine. Memorial contributions to any of the causes Ann supported are sincerely appreciated:

  • St. Louis University School of Medicine  (“CASE” Center for Anatomical Science and Education, 1402 South Grand Blvd., Schwitalla Hall, Room M306, St. Louis MO 63104 | 314-977-8027)
  • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital  (www.StJude.org/donate)
  • The American Cancer Society  (www.cancer.org)
  • The December 5th Fund  (www.december5th.org)

Memorials, stories and photos may be sent to ann.wachter.reinhardt@gmail.com.

Services:   A memorial mass will be held on Saturday May 22nd at 10:00am at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, (9740 Sappington Rd, Sappington, MO 63128), and will be immediately followed by a memorial lunch reception to join the family in celebrating her wonderful life.

May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.

Condolences

  3. Our sympathies to all the family. I knew Ann since I was a little girl and always felt right at home at her house. She was like a second mom to me. She has always been fun and interesting to talk to. Mom to my best childhood friend, Diane. I always thought she was a cool mom. I remember her hanging out in the little metal pool with us in the backyard. She always had a pitcher of Kool-Aid for us and soda when we got older. I also remember her going to JB to find us when we ventured just a little too far on our bikes.

Ann was a beautiful and wonderful lady and will be remembered fondly.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

  5. Our condolence to all the family–Ann Marie will be missed and remembered. So many fun family parties to remember. Ann Marie and I shared graduation celebration together, although we went to different schools. I recall how she had to have her piece of chocolate everyday. Treasure your many great memories. Love,
    Bob and Alverta Abbott.
