In Loving Memory

Myer, Justin Lee

Justin Myer went to rest in eternal peace with our Lord on Thursday, March 30, 2017. Only 38, Justin faced many challenges and suffered chronic pain and illness. Yet, in the face of adversity, he remained a loving son, brother, father and friend who always brought a smile to your face and heart.

Justin was born in Cherry Point, NC, graduated in ’97 from Fort Zumwalt South HS, completed EMT and Paramedic training and took classes toward a degree in IT.  He competed in swimming and was a state medal winner while growing up, but found a love for volleyball in later years. Along with volleyball came friends that became his extended family, never just teammates.

Justin had a kind, caring and generous spirit that touched everyone. He helped with everything from computers to carpentry, but it’s how he brightened even the simplest moment that we’ll remember most. He had a way of telling a story, joke or quick one-liner that left us laughing, just for that moment, feeling carefree and alive.

Thank you, Justin, for all the joy and love you shared with us. You gave with all your heart and soul. You will live in our hearts forever.

Justin is survived by his mother/step-father, Terri Myer/Mark Verity; father/step-mother, John/Sylvia Myer; brothers, Tyson (Chauntel) and Jonathan (Emilie); son, Preston; daughters, Kiersten/Kennedy; grandmother, Wilma Wilcoxson; fiancée Kristen Mertz; and many more family and friends.

Visitation: Sunday, April 9, 4-8 pm, Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois, St. Louis. Funeral: Monday, April 10, 10 am, St. Vincent De Paul, 1408 S. 10th St, St. Louis, followed by burial at Park Lawn Cemetery. Donations: Justin Myer Celebration Fund, https://www.gofundme.com/JustinMyer.
