Morello, Lidia (nee Passanisi)

Lidia Morello (nee Passanisi) 68, May 2, 2017. Beloved wife to Luigi “Gino” Morello, mother to Carlo (Alejandra), Rick (Stephanie), and Anna (Levente Kozak); incredible Nonna to Maria, Henry, Victoria, and Nathan. Sister to Nino (Giuseppina), Emmanuelle (Carmela), Umberto (Santina), Nella (Peter Russo), Giuseppe† “Joe” (Mariella†), Concetta† “Concettina” (Virgilio LaScola).  Loving sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, friend, and hairdresser to many.

She emigrated from Augusta, Sicily to the United States, settling in the St. Louis area. After a few years of working different jobs, she developed a love for cutting hair.  She became a hair dresser, married in 1975, soon had 3 beautiful children, and later 4 grandchildren she loved to spoil.  She was a member of the Sicilian Cultural Association of St. Louis, The Misericordia Society, and volunteered for St. Louis Columbus Day Parades and Miss Italian St. Louis events for many years. In addition, she devoted her life to helping others in numerous ways; like cooking and delivering meals for the poor, volunteering at her church, donating her time and financial support towards different organizations.

Services: Visitation at St. Justin the Martyr church, Sunday May 7, 5-8 p.m. and Monday, 10 a.m. until Mass at 11. Cemetery: Entombment Resurrection Mausoleum.
