Medic, Marion R. “Mike” age 91, baptized into the hope of Christ’s resurrection, on Friday, September 2, 2016.

Devoted husband and best friend of Virginia Medic (nee Krieger) for 69 years; beloved father of Diane (Tom) Abernathy, Jean (Jim) Garrett, Carol (Kevin) O’Neil; dearest grandpa of Michelle, Susan, Patrick, Christa and Kimberly; loving great-grandpa of Jack, Jacob, Ava, Aiden, Emma, Evelyn, Sam, Caroline, Pete, Patrick, Madelyn, and Katherine; dear brother of Ginny Pruetzel and the late Sylvia Jelinek; dear uncle and friend.

Mike was born in St. Louis, the son of Croation immigrants. He was a graduate of Southside Catholic High School. He served as a tail gunner with the Army Air Corps during World War II. He graduated from St. Louis University with a degree in accounting and had a long career with Fred Weber Inc. He enjoyed traveling, ballroom dancing, spending time with his family, following the stock market and watching Cardinals baseball. He was a devout Catholic and a good man. He taught us well and we will miss him.

Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON Chapel, 10151 Gravois, Tuesday, September 6, 9:30 a.m. to St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 9740 Sappington Rd., for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Mary’s High School. Visitation Monday, 4-8 p.m.
