Malawy, Leonard N.

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Wednesday, January 12, 2022.  Beloved husband of Velma Malawy (nee Drewel); loving father of Linda Malawy, Cheryl Malawy, Cynthia (James) Shafer and Terry (Wendy) Malawy; adoring grandfather of Alexa.

Leonard, 94, was the son of August and Clara (Skiera) Malawy.  Leonard is survived by his brother, John Malawy and sisters-in-law Marie Malawy and Dorothy Malawy.  He was preceded in death by brothers Andrew (Catherine) Malawy, Harry (Rose) Malawy, Eugene Malawy, Alvin Malawy and sister-in-law Gisela Malawy.  Also survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent dePaul Society (St. John Paul II) or the Affton Christian Food Pantry.

Services:  Visitation at St. John Paul II (School Campus, 7748 Mackenzie Rd., 63123) on Wed. 1/19 from 11 am until funeral mass at 12 noon.  Interment J.B. National Cemetery.

Masks are required for the services.

  1. What a wonderful father, husband, Grandfather and friend.
    I was blessed to be his neighbor for over over 50 years! He was always laughing and smiling and enjoying his family and friends.
    He sure enjoyed his bakery goods too! He was a kind and gentle man. He will be missed. There will only be one Leonard Malawy! I close my eyes and can see him and my Dad at the fence, talking and solving all the worlds problems.
    My life is forever better, because of Leonard and the entire Malawy Family.
