  5. I coached Eddie in 8th grade at Magdalen. He was my point guard and was the floor leader. I asked the team at our first meeting what their goals were. Eddie said to win city. Winning city was a big thing back then. I said that was a lofty goal for a team that was winless the year before. We came within a point. He went on to be a relentless and driven player. Watching him was a joy. If you played with him you better run.
So sorry to hear about his death. I have many good memories of Eddie.

  9. All who knew Ed are sad to lose such a good person. All who were fortunate to be his teammate felt very fortunate that they got to play with him. The few who got to go fishing with Ed, enjoyed everyday in the boat with him. Our lunches at the Locker Room will never be as enjoyable with Ed not being there!

  13. I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Ed. He and I were on the same basketball team at St. Mary’s in the late ’60s. Ed — or Eddie, as we used to say — was a great player and a good friend during those years. He was a quiet personality but had a puckish wit and sense of humor; and never failed to bring out the mischievous side of me. We had lots of fun together, both on and off the court. I hadn’t seen him in many years, but will never forget the good times we spent together.

    Please accept my deepest condolences.

  19. I first came to know Ed in 1993 when I was hired as his supervisor at S.G. Adams. I was in my 20’s at the time, and Ed had been with Adams for nearly 20 years. Despite our age and tenure differences, from day one, Ed proved be my trusted confidant, my “right hand” and most importantly, my friend. Over the course of the next 25 years, it was my great honor to work with Ed, Ed’s father for a period of time, and with Dan, Jeff, and Jamie. I was introduced to Dan, Jeff, and Jamie when they were quite young, and watched them grow into the wonderful adults they are today. Ed loved his family dearly and spoke often of them at work.

Ed was fun, the “great schemer” (never a deal that couldn’t be had or at least made better), quick witted, and incredibly caring.

Ed retired several years ago and I hadn’t seen him for a while. I miss my dear friend and am thankful for the impact he had on my life. My sincere condolences to Cindy, Dan, Jeff, and Jamie.
