Juanita-Fernandez

In Loving Memory

Fernandez, Juanita M. (nee Allen)

Age 102 (February 6, 1918 – June 22, 2020) Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, on Monday, June 22, 2020.  Beloved wife of the late  Angel V. Fernandez; dear mother of Ronald (Nancy), the late Kenneth (the late Margaret), the late Dennis (the late Marge), Francis (the late Mary Ann), and Christopher; dear grandmother to 13 grandchildren, 27 great grand children, and 6 great great grandchildren; daughter of the late Fred and Margie Allen, sister of the late Fred Jr. Allen and sister-in-law of the late Mary Louise.

Juanita loved roses and having her grandchildren pick them for her from her garden.  She was known lovingly to her grandchildren as “Grandma Neat”. She enjoyed the many large family gatherings and celebrated with a beer in a chilled glass. She made the most out of life and was an example of love, emotional strength and the importance of family.

Juanita worked at the smalls arms plant during World War II and retired from the water division in St. Louis. She loved spending time with her family and always loved sharing stories of the past. She was the oldest parishioner of St John Paul II (St. George) and was  an active member in the seniors group.

Special thanks to Renee and  McKenzie of Visiting Angels and other angels. Special thanks to Jenny the hospice nurse as well.

Services: Visitation Tuesday June, 23, 2020 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass at St. John Paul II (St. George) Wednesday June 24,2020 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Society of St. Vincent DePaul or charity of your choice. Mass intentions welcomed.
