Eccher, Ellen Christine

Saturday, June 20, 2020. Beloved daughter of the late Frederick J. and the late Sara J. “Sally” Eccher, sister to Rick and Gary (Lisa) Eccher, Aunt to Eric and Chris Eccher and Meghan Stevens (Marcus), Great Aunt to Madyson & Chrissy. Preceded in death by a brother, Chuck. Dear niece, cousin and friend to many.

A proud graduate of Southwest High School, Ellen was very involved in organizing reunions and alumni events. She graduated from St. Louis University, subsequently becoming a career IRS agent and also served as a union rep. Ellen enjoyed gardening, snow skiing, golf, bridge, entertaining, and trying new restaurants. After retiring, she traveled extensively, danced as a member of three swing dance clubs, and was a passionate volunteer with Needy Paws Rescue.

Services: Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Rd on Thursday, June 25 from 4-8 pm. A brief time of sharing will begin at 7:15 for those who would like to share memories and special remembrances. Burial will be private. Contributions to Needy Paws Rescue or a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.

  5. My heart goes out to family n friends that played a special part in Ellen’s life. She was loved by people who that knew her soul. Ellen, you will be truly missed. Now you can be dancing up in heaven. I just wish I had a chance to see you swing dance. Until God brings us all together. R.I.P. My SW Alumni!

  7. Ellen was one of a group of Parade dancer. She danced last 4th of July in the St Louis V.P. Parade with a group from South Side Imperial Dance Club and U Can Dance. She helped everyone master the steps and we looked great. She attended many swing dances and was fun to be with. She will be greatly missed.

  17. Ellen was my friend from high school. She was always very friendly. She was a cheerleader and a very smart person. Our class theme song was We will never pass this way again. I feel she took that song to heart. She lived a full life. She was a friend to many. She was loved and will be missed. RIP .
