In Loving Memory

Dr. Richard A. Kirchhoefer, DMD

Dr. Richard A. Kirchhoefer, DMD 77, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away on August 30th, 2022. Born in St. Louis, MO on July 18th, 1945, Richard was a DMD for over 30 years and ran his own dental practice. Dr. Kirchhoefer graduated from SLUH high school and Washington University dental school. He was a lifelong Cardinals baseball fan, an impressive athlete, and an avid reader. Extremely intelligent, Dr. Kirchhoefer could capture the attention of any room. Even in his later years, he just loved making people happy, and lit up the faces of his friends and family. Anything that was needed of him, he did without complaint. He was a pillar of strength; reliable, logical, and without judgement.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother; Doris (Miller) Kirchhoefer and father; Arthur G. Kirchhoefer. Richard is survived by his daughter; Ellie Kirchhoefer, brother; Dan Kirchhoefer, and sisters; Alice (Kirchhoefer) Deisner and Patricia (Kirchhoefer) Denny.

Richard will forever be in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, and will continue to be a shining example of just how great a man can be.

Services: Public Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 14th, from 4-8 p.m. at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois. Services to follow on Thursday, September 15th, at 10 a.m. in the Kutis Funeral Home Chapel.

  1. Many good memories of Dick. He was always at our boys games…their biggest fan. He was also our dentist. Loved seeing him and catching up at our 6 month check ups. A great man who loved his family. God bless you all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

  11. Dick was one of first volunteers I met when I started volunteering at St Luke’s. His eyes would light up with smiles, and he truly made a difference. He was so incredibly kind and friendly to everyone who passed his way. I considered him my friend, and I loved to sit and chat with him. He was truly missed when he stopped volunteering. People still ask about him. What a wonderful man he was.

  13. Richard was a great guy and lovingly took care of his Aunt Audrey’s dental needs. She actually looked forward to her visits with Dick. More so just to visit with Dick of course.

    Dick will be missed.

  23. Dick was our closest friend during the years in which he and my husband, John Morrison, were classmates at Dental School. We often went to dinner, on canoe trips, out dancing, and to dental conventions together–all of which brought the richest and fulfilling memories of our time in St. Louis. There was never a dull moment in Dick’s presence. The news of his passing brings great sadness to us. However, we know that this was a man who lived his life to the fullest, contributing love and kindness to his family, friends, and community. Dick was a shepherd and a leader–all at the same time. We send our love and prayers to your family, Dick, and pray that you are at eternal rest.
