Beloved husband of Susan Dombek (nee Paterson); dear father of Courtney (James) Ritter, Zachary (Ashley) and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Dombek; dear grandfather of Joseph, Andrew, Christopher, Lyla, Blake, Ava and Phillip; dear son of the late Stanley and Carm Dombek; dear brother of Jerry (Sue) Dombek and the late Stanley Dombek, Kathleen (surviving Richard) Raterman and JoAnn (surviving Ron) Mertzlufft. Our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Mr. Dombek was a member of A.I.A. He was an avid sportsman who loved fishing and hunting. He was a proud woodworker, enjoyed working with stained glass and was a Hill Boy until the end.
Services: Visitation at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Friday, February 26, 10 a.m. until funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hill 2000 Sick and Elderly Program or to the Missouri Department of Conservation appreciated. KUTIS AFFTON SERVICE.

I worked with Vince for many years, went on a couple fishing trips with him and hoisted a few beers with him over the years. He was always a pleasure to work with and always willing to lend a hand. He will be greatly missed, but now God has another excellent architect added to his realm – probably first duty will be to update those dated pearly gates!

I’m very saddened and shocked to hear that Vince has left us. He taught me so much in my years with WCC- not only architecture, but so much more. From stained glass to bocce ball at Melrose and how to bs with the best of them. I will forever be grateful for all the opportunities he gave me and for his friendship. We have been through a whole lot over the years including work, family and health issues. I will greatly miss Vince’s work expertise. I know Vince has been through a whole lot lately dealing with his back pain and am so sorry he was not able to recover from his latest back surgery. I will certainly miss him. Vine and I worked on a lot of projects since the early seventies. I was with Albers, Stocker and now Tarlton and Vince was a friend who will be missed. He was a proud Father and Grand Father. Over the years we had a few arguments about how something should be built, and I even won a few times, really.
