Dear husband of the late Dora  Alice Fredricksen Witt  (nee Trout); dear father of  David (JoAnn) Witt, Janice Fredricksen-Naber and Steven Fredricksen; dear grandfather of Lauri (Alex)  Aviles and Steven (Erinne) Naber, Todd and Don (Chris) Lauer; great-grandfather of 6; dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

Graduated from Concordia Seminary  St. Louis in 1952. Proud veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars in the US Air Force serving as a Chaplain. He was a member of  Missouri Athletic Club and Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.

Services: Visitation at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., Thursday, May 5, 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. then to Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 9907 Sappington Rd., for visitation Friday, May 6, 9:00 a.m. until service at 10:00 a.m. Interment J.B. National Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Melvin and Alice Witt Student Aide Endowment Fund c/o Concordia Seminary, 801 Seminary Place, 63105-3199 or Compassionate Companions, SSM St. Clare, 1015 Bowles Ave., Fenton, MO 63026.
