Whitehead, Lamire ‘Whitey’ L.

 

was born on November 29, 1933 in Saint Peters, Illinois to Bert and Beulah (nee Scott) Whitehead and passed away on Wednesday, March 15 at the age of 89.

He was the loving husband of Penny  (nee Schowengerdt), the dear father of Cara (Joe) Garst, Laurie (Jon) Weston and Julie (Richard) Tobias.

Lamire was the dear brother to the late Lester, Lowell and Leo Whitehead and loving grandfather to Andrew, and Ryan Garst, Alexandra, Nicholas, and Samuel Palozola, Mikaela, and Maia Weston.

He was the dear uncle to Melodie Klenke, Bill and Tammy Reyman, and friend to many.

Whitey enjoyed fishing and hunting. As a young man he raced cars and flew small airplanes. He loved to play the lottery and watch baseball. His lifelong passion was to find the mother load of morel mushrooms!

Services; Visitation at Kutis South County (5255 Lemay Ferry) Monday, March 27 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral service Tuesday, March 28 at 10 a.m. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
