I knew Rich as a friend and member of Post 1. He donated his time to us and led us on some of the great adventures of my life. He affected the lives of many.

My heartfelt sympathy & prayers. Rich was such a good man, so giving, full of wit, passion, faith filled and caring for the scouts and scouters.

Rich was our leader and friend in Explorer Post 1. He helped to guide us and keep us on the straight and narrow through our teenage years and stayed a friend as an adult. Prayers and condolences to his family. He will be missed!

I will always remember Rich as a really caring person. He was our Explorer Post 1 leader. He taught me so much as a teenager. We even rebuilt my engine together. He made me do all the work so I would learn. I am forever grateful for his friendship that lasted until now. We were together a few years ago just after Christmas and stayed in touch through social media. Thank you for all you’ve done. Rest In Peace. See you in Heaven someday.

To the family,
Rich led us on quite a few adventures at Post 1. I remember traveling in the back of his Ford truck all the way to Colorado. I am sure that would not be sanctioned today for safety reasons. Rich guided us throughout Estes park , you will always be remembered my friend.

Deborah and family I am sorry for your loss. I remember Rich from when Todd and Craig were little guys in Scouts. He will always be remembered.

I met Rich when I went to Philmont in 1967. After that I joined Post 1. Rich was our adult leader at Philmont and the advisor to the Post. I learned many life skills from Rich through observation and discussion. I also learned how to play Hearts, Spades, and Pinochle! (I still miss the days of four-handed card games.) He was a generous man and a true Scout. RIP Rich
