  19. Wife, Erin, children Joshua, Cecelia, Aidan and Rogan; Mr. and Mrs. Kinealy; and extended family members, kindly accept my condolences for your tremendous loss. I am deeply saddened by Roy’s passing. Nevertheless, based on the many conversations Roy and I have had, over the years, I am confident and prayerful about your (Joshua, Cecelia, Aidnan, and Rogan) future. Your dad cared deeply about you
and about your future success in life. Please take comfort in knowing this.

In his work, Roy consistently demonstrated the true attributes of a public servant: care about the public’s welfare; and his role in helping MoDOT match its vision and stewardship values, to insure, in every respect, a world-class transportation system for Missouri. Roy brought forethought and very strong analytical acumen to his work. With a healthy admixture of skepticism, sardonicism, and playfulness, that belied strong business and systems management knowledge, Roy consistently produced excellent results.

I am especially grateful and blessed to have known Roy as a colleague and friend.

“The strife is o’er, the battle done.” Hallelujah!

  23. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know some of the family through the boys’ sports and cubscouts. I also got to work with Roy and more directly these last few months. You could always count on him for a good story and to make you laugh and smile. He will truly be missed.
Erin – if you or the kids ever need anything, we’re just down the road.

  31. I trained Roy when he first started at MODOT in the business and benefits department. I guess I trained him very well, he eventually became my supervisor a few years later. My prayers for his family.
