In Loving Memory

Schrader, Rosemary O. (nee Struckhoff)

Rosemary Olive Agnes Struckoff Schrader passed three days short of her 98th birthday. She went to heaven from deGreeff Hospice house on September 2nd, 2020 with her daughters Linda and Laura by her side. The beautiful Rosemary was born to Emil Struckoff and Emma Klott Struckoff on September 5th, 1922.

A girl from south city, she married Albert Lawrence Schrader on Jan. 21st, 1947. They raised their family as long time members of Holy Family Parish. She spent most of her life being a devoted mother to her six children- Nancy Lorenz, Linda Schooley, Sandy Mantler, Larry Schrader, Laura Collins, and Bob Schrader (deceased). Known affectionately as “Rosey-Posey” to her eleven grandchildren, she also had eleven great-grandchildren with another on the way!

She was an avid gardener and always had a beautiful yard at her home on Parker. She was a long time Girl Scout leader. At one point she worked as a census taker and also worked as a secretary at Brown Shoe. She loved the Cardinals and continued to watch even after she lost her sight. She was quite the talker and touch many lives while she was here with us.

Tragically she lost her youngest child Bob Schrader to Pancreatic Cancer earlier this year, at only age 55. She had an agreement with him that whomever went first would pull the other up to heaven. She kept saying ‘“hurry up, Bob”. She will be buried on her birthday and will finally join all her friends and family waiting for her in heaven. But know this; the ones that love us never really leave us!

In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the American Cancer Society in honor of Sandy and Bob. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!

Services: Funeral Saturday, September 5th At 9:30a.m. from Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois, heading to Cure of Ars Catholic Church for 10am mass. Interment private. Visitation Friday, 4-8 p.m.

  1. Aunt Rosemary was my aunt by marriage, and I really enjoyed talking to her on the phone. My daughter Laura and I went to visit her one time — what a pleasant time we had. Rest in peace Aunt Rosemary.

  5. My Great Aunt Rose was someone I remember from my early childhood and my dad mentioned her quite a bit in my adult years- always spoke very highly of her. I wish I would’ve had the chance to see her in person more often but from what I know she was a kind, generous soul and lived a very full life until the end. Rest in peace and paradise, Aunt Rose.
