Schmidt (nee Gilbert); dear father of Theresa (Greg) Campbell, Edward (Shelly) Schmidt, Patrick (Debbie) Schmidt, Ann (Reid) Stuber and the late Julie (surviving Ron) Edgar; adoring grandfather of Ryan (Katie) Campbell, Mary Kennedy, Megan Campbell, Madelyn (Timmy) Michel, Christopher Campbell, Edward (Katie) Schmidt, Abigail (Spencer) Wesson, Katelyn, Brandon, Emily Edgar, Amanda, Emma and Collin Schmidt, Brendan Stuber, Bridgette Clifton and Owen Stuber; cherished great-grandfather of Brigid, Margaret, Caroline, Lucy, Callie, Emma, Benjamin, Eleanore, Oliver, Wilder and 1 more on the way; dear brother of Linda (the late Bob) Myers, Richard (Clare) Schmidt and the late Margaret (surviving Wayne) Schall and Alice Jensen; our dear uncle, cousin, Godfather and friend to so many.

Mr. Schmidt was a life-time member of the American Motorcycle Association and an accomplished Gold Medal Olympian of International Six Day Trials.

Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois, Monday, December 12, 9:15 a.m. to St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church (Kingshighway) for 10:00 a.m. Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Masses or contributions to the charity of your choice appreciated. Visitation Sunday, 3-7 p.m.

  3. I met Ed in 1973 at a Motorcycle dealership in Des Moines Iowa. I also got to see and talk to him at the 1973 ISDT. What a great guy. Truly missed.
