Friday, January 27, 2023.  Beloved husband of Ashley Lynn Schlesing.  Dear father of Jaelyn, Isabella, Xylynn and Gunner.  Dear son of Nina Banks and the late Richard Schlesing.  Dear step-son of John Banks.  Dear brother of Travis (Nika) Carter and Jacqueline Pound.  Dear step-brother of John Banks II and Rachael Banks.  Dear grandson of William H. and Jean F. Kinder and Betty (the late Orville) Schlesing.  Dear son-in-law of Theresa and Dale Nordin.  Dear nephew of Lori, Gary,, Christy, Susie, Debbie and Mark.  Our dear uncle, brother-in-law, cousin, co-worker and friend.

Mr. Schlesing was sergeant and squad leader for the Missouri National Guard and a member of the Larry J’s Dart League.

SERVICES:  Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Road on Thursday, February 2, 4 – 8 p.m.  A funeral service will be held at Kutis Affton Chapel on Friday, 1:00 p.m.  Contributions to the charity of your choice appreciated.

  17. Like a lot of us, he was quiet and reserved when he first came into the unit straight out of AIT. He was reliable from the start and became part of what I like to think of as “the old crew” after a few drills and his first AT with us. I was a fresh NCO at the time and having Ritchie in my squad made my job much easier. He caught on real quick and our section got really close around that time thanks to him. As armament guys, we used to stay at the range after-hours during our annual rifle qualification and we’d hang out as a section. When I think of those times, our boy Richie is one of the only guys from the old crew who I know was actively participating in our fun and games. Impossible to forget friends like that.

    May you rest in peace and watch over the rest of us from heaven before we eventually get there
