  11. Nancy was a wonderful person. She was my supervisor at STLCC. Nancy was kind, caring and generous. She was also funny and would frequently come out of her office to tell a story, laughing at her own jokes, which in turn would make everyone else laugh as well.

Nancy lovingly spoke of her grandchildren. She was so proud of them.

In honor of Nancy, I’d like to share a quick story.

I was new to St. Louis when I started working with Nancy. I had not truly experienced a Missouri winter. Being from a warmer environment, I didn’t own any winter attire like gloves, earmuffs, scarf, or a heavy coat. For about a week, Nancy saw me freezing walking into building and kept telling me I needed to buy winter gear. I was stubborn and thought I could tough it out. Then one morning, I came into work and Nancy had left a scarf, hat, and mittens on my desk. As I thanked Nancy, she said, “I was tired of seeing you shivering, now go get a coat!” and started laughing. That was Nancy. Always looking out for everyone while putting a smile on your face.

It was a pleasure to have known Nancy. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time. She will be missed.

Nancy was a Financial Aid Warrior like many of us. She was knowledgeable, empathetic and had a great sense of humor. Whenever I called her for advice she always ended our conversation with a funny antidote to cheer me on.
