Reichert, Fern Margaret (nee Schleper)

January 29, 1924- April 1, 2022

Born in St. Louis, Missouri

Daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Schleper (nee Worms); mother of Eric R. (Virginia) Reichert and Laura (James N.) Heckler; grandmother of Adrienne Nicole “Niki: Heckler, James E. “Jimmy” Heckler and Neil Reichert; great-grandmother of Cody and Alyna Tully and Duncan Reichert; godmother of Monica Moreland (nee Hehner) and the late Linda Snyder (nee Schleper). Fern had many nieces and nephews. She was also sister-in-law to the late Glenn Hehner and Virginia Schleper.

Fern Reichert was preceded in death by her parents, brother Henry “Hank” Schleper and her sister Allyn Hehner, St. Louis, MO. as well as Geneva Canfield (nee Schleper), Floyd “Cotton” and Florence Everett, and Judy Pate (nee Everett) of St. Joseph, MO. and Kansa City, MO.

Fern worked for the Defense Mapping Agency in St. Louis before retiring and eventually moving to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In 2010, she moved back to Missouri with her family. She enjoyed holidays, cooking, baking and taking vacations to the ocean with her Grandchildren. Fern had fond memories of her trip to Europe with her sister and niece. Fern loved her pets.

Donations can be made in her name to the American Heart Association, The American Macular Degeneration Foundations, Heartland Hospice Care of Union, MO. or Victorian Place of Sullivan, Sullivan, MO. for their love in helping to care for Fern.

A private ceremony celebration of her life will be planned at a future date.
