Raines, Ronald E.

Ronald Eugene Raines, 68, of Imperial died May 22, 2020, at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Raines retired from Chrysler Corp. as an electrician. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from Missouri Air National Guard as a Master Sergeant. He was a member of the United Auto Workers, U.S. Navy League St. Louis Council, STL Mini Club, League of Extrodinary MINIacs, Mini Breakfast Club of St Louis and a lifetime member of the Arnold VFW. He also volunteered with Antonia Elementary Rock and Mineral Club. He was a one-of-a-kind person, who loved life, family, hiking, playing guitar and most of of all, spending time with his grandsons. His fun-loving spirit, imagination and generosity will be remembered by his friends and family.

 Born July 4, 1951, in Peoria, Ill., he was the son of the late Myrtle (French) and Richard K. Raines Sr.

 He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Debra (Rice)of Imperial; his son: LT Tim Raines, USN (ret) of Eureka; his daughter: Kelly (Rocco) Tarpeo of Barnhart; four grandchildren: Carter and Colin Raines and Antonio and Dominic Tarpeo; and two sisters: Barbara Vicker and Tina (Cronan) McCarthy.

 He was preceded in death by a brother: Richard (Dottie) Raines Jr.; and a sister: Carol Ann (Don) Brown.

Services will be at a later date. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks with Military Honors. Memorials may be made to Crossroads Hospice or the Navy League St. Louis Council. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.

  3. Debbie, I am so sorry for your loss. Seeing through a 47 year partnership in marriage is a sacred accomplishment. My heart goes out to you and your children, and grandchildren.
