Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Sylvia Gay Purcell. Loving father of Geraldine “Jerry” (the late Darrell) Gross, Denise Purcell, John Purcell, Ellen (Craig) Bauer, Carolyn (Brian) Mort, Maryann (Mike) McKernan and the late Malcolm W. Purcell, Jr. “Joe”. Dearest grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend. Mr. Purcell was a WWII and Korean War veteran finishing his military career as an Army Air Force pilot, 1st Lt. He passed away surrounded by family in his own home. Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois, on Monday, June 29, 12pm to Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church for a 12:30pm Mass. Interment J.B. National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Missouri Council for the Blind (5453 Chippewa, 6109; https://www.moblind.org/how-to-help/donate.html), appreciated. Visitation Sunday 4-8pm.

  11. So sorry for your Family’s loss. Though I never personally met Mr. Purcell, Being a friend to John Purcell, his personality and all around goodness-shows what great parents he obviously had. Also John has shared many stories of his father including his pride for his fathers heroic military service. God Bless you all and give you peace in your grief.
