J-Nichols

In Loving Memory

Nichols, John H. Jr.

Nichols, John H. Jr. The saddest grief among all the grievances is the grief of a sudden death. In a state of extreme sorrow and sadness, the Nichols family regrets to inform his dear friends and associates that John H. Nichols Jr. peacefully passed away on February 24, 2022 at age 75. He lived a full life devoted to his family, friends, and legions of hockey players. His unparalleled kindness, character, and compassion were well known to all of those who knew him. The family is unimaginably grateful to have had the honor of having his transformative presence in their lives.

John was the beloved husband of Patricia Nichols (nee Poole) for over 53 years. Dearest father of Rachel (Steve) Montgomery and John H. III (Stacey) Nichols. Loving grandfather of Piper and Peyton Montgomery and John Lucien Nichols. Dear brother of Cheryl (Mark) Tilley. Dear brother-in-law of Sharon Rutledge. Our dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend.

SERVICES: Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials to Humane Society of Missouri appreciated. KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY Chapel.

  9. Coach took boys and helped shape them into men. The passion for the game was only surpassed by his passion for his family and players. John took a chance on me in 88 and I have been forever grateful. The lessons I learned from him and the Warrior program are still lessons I pass on to my hockey playing sons. Thank You John and the Nichols family for helping set the foundation for the person I have become. Patti, Rachel, and Trey, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
