June Bay Nelson   July 26, 1926 – August 29, 2018

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, 92, died August 29, 2018 following a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She leaves 3 children,  Terrie (Rick) Powers, Patty (Larry) Dillard, Tim (Karen) Bay; brother, Roger Kleinpeter; dear sister-in-law, “Sis” Flinn; brother-in-law, Ted Hempen; stepchildren, Norma (Bud) Ackley, Bill (Debra) Nelson; grandchildren, nieces and nephews and numerous friends.June was preceded in death by her first husband of 43 years, Alvin Bay and her second husband of 20 years, Norman Nelson.

June’s greatest joy was being with her family and many friends.  She enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother; traveling the world and experiencing new places; and volunteering for her church and civic activities. She was renowned for giving great fun parties and making the best chocolate chip cookies in the world. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

There will be a memorial service and luncheon at St. John’s Evangelical Church of Christ in Mehlville, Missouri on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. John’s church.
