Nacrelli, George Anthony “Chief”

age 77, passed away peacefully in his sleep the morning of June 30th 2018, blessed with the last sacrament of the Catholic Church, in Saint Louis, Missouri. Chief was the 6th child of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Cummings) Nacrelli born January 20th, 1941 in Chester, Pennsylvania.

Chief is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara J. Nacrelli, his sons Anthony, Michael (Angelica) and Daniel (Betsy); two grandsons, James and David; his brothers Hank and Marty; family and many friends. His 3 brothers Joe, Jack and Andy, and sister Josephine predeceased him.

After graduating from the United States Air Force Academy in 1963, Chief completed pilot training in September of ’64. Chief created a distinctive and accomplished career with the Air Force and the Missouri Air National Guard, retiring after 20 years as a Lieutenant Colonel. Chief also had a very successful 25 year career at IBM, where he was a mentor to many and created numerous lifelong friendships.

Chief will be remembered by all who knew him as an incredibly warm, kind, and sincere person, a devoted and loving husband, a loyal and genuine friend, and a proud and supportive father and grandfather. What a fulfilling and exemplary life Chief lived.

Services: A Mass of thanksgiving for his life and love will be celebrated at St. Gabriel Archangel Church in August at a time and date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
