In Memory of Arnold Lee Mungle January 17, 1938 – June 28, 2016

MUNGLE, Arnold Lee, 78 of Festus, MO stepped into eternity and the loving embrace of the arms of Jesus on June 28, 2016. Born January 17, 1938 to Rufus Shell (Butch) and Metta Marie (Mett) (nee Yamnitz) Mungle of Patton, MO

Arnold is survived by sons Jeffrey (Tammy) Mungle and Joe (Christine) Mungle, grandchildren Alisha Schamel, Jeffrey (Jessie) Mungle, Joshua Mungle, Jonathan Spence, Alexandra Brown, Austin Mungle, Samantha Mungle and Grace Mungle, great grandchildren Jordan Asta, Miyanna Asta, Mackenzie Schamel, Michael Schamel, Aiden Mungle, Ethan Mungle, Logan Mungle, Lilly Mungle, Anna Mungle, Theodore Harold, Will Brown and Felicity Brown and brother Leroy Mungle.

Arnold was preceded in death by his wife Audrey Faye Mungle (nee Tallent) his father Rufus Shell (Butch) Mungle, mother Metta Marie (Mett) Mungle (nee Yamnitz), brother Robert Mungle, and daughter Monica Faye Mungle.

Arnold Graduated from Patton High School in 1957. After high school, he worked on the family farm and other odd jobs in Patton . He married Audrey Faye Tallent of Patton, MO on January 24, 1959 and soon moved to St. Louis, MO. After moving, he worked for Fleet Fina gas station pumping gas, cleaning windshields, checking oil (and probably checking out the girls as well). He and Audrey became pregnant but lost their first child Monica. He was drafted into the military and went through boot camp at Fort Lenard Wood then served 2 years in the United States Army stationed in Korea as PFC driving an M113 APC (Armored Personnel Carrier). When he was honorably discharged and returned home he became a father of Jeff and began his career as a union Floor Layer in local 1310 and later became the father of Joe. Arnold retired in 2000 and they moved to Festus. He was a member of Church in Action.

Funeral service at Kutis Funeral Home, South County Chapel at 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., Mehlville, MO 63129 on Thursday, June 30th, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. with visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral procession to interment ceremony at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Friday July 1st at 8:30 a.m. leaving from Kutis South County Chapel. Memorial donations in Arnold’s honor appreciated to American Parkinson Disease Association (Greater St. Louis Chapter) 1415 Elbridge Payne Road, Suite 150 (Chesterfield, MO 63017).
