Meyr, Lawrence Harold

 

Meyr, Lawrence Harold entered heavenly rest with his Savior on Monday, July 31, 2017 at age 92.

Born on June 19, 1925, he was the beloved husband of Mildred O. (Kuhlmann) Meyr for 64 years. Father of Denise E. Meyr and Diane E. Graham; cherished grandfather of Matthew T.  (Kathryn L.), Nathaniel B., Peter M., Joy E. Schaefer, and Mitchell S. Graham; dear great grandfather of 5  grandchildren; and friend to many.

Born and raised in New Wells, MO, he was a graduate of Jackson High School and served our country in the Philippines during and after WWII. Upon returning from the war, he worked for Union Electric for his entire career. He completed his college education at Washington University of St. Louis, earning his Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Industrial Management and a Certificate of Electrical Technology.

Blessed with a gentle disposition and strong faith, he humbly served his family and the Lutheran church for many years. He was an avid gardener and also enjoyed golfing, church history, traveling, and exploring his German heritage.

A visitation will be held August 10 at 12:00pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Des Peres, MO, with a funeral service at 1pm. Burial with military honors immediately following.A service of KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL.
