In Loving Memory

Lockwood, Thomas Aubert

Thomas Aubert Lockwood

Age 79 of LeMay, Passed away May 14, 2020. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marilyn Kay Lockwood, one son, Gary Lockwood and wife Jill Lockwood, and two grandkids Sarah and Shane Lockwood, one brother Paul Lockwood and two sisters Maxine Tipton and Margene Peters. He was preceded in death by brothers Jerry and Denny Lockwood and sisters Ester Hicks, Ann Lynn, and Judy Fields.

Tom grew up in the cotton fields outside of Poplar Bluff Missouri. Most of his days in his youth were spent in the field picking cotton with his family. Tom enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country for the Vietnam War but ended up contracting spinal meningitis just a week before shipping out.

Tom was one of the most mechanically inclined people one would ever meet. There was not an engine or motor he could not figure out. Friends and family always had a project for him. From working on their furnace, repairing a refrigerator, installing a water heater, or fixing the old lawn mower. He could fix anything. This ability faired him well as he retired from St. Mary’s Hospital where he worked in the engineering department responsible for air conditioning and refrigeration. Tom’s greatest love, beside his wife and family was fishing. When he did have free time, he spent that time on the lake or river. Genuinely gifted at fishing he had an innate ability to find a way to land a fish in times where no one would even get a bite.

Tom will forever be thought of by all who knew him.

Service: Visitation Services will be Tuesday May 19th 4:00-7:00 pm.

  1. I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. Tom was the best fishing buddy, co-worker and friend anyone would ever want. He will be greatly missed and thought of a lot on future fishing trips on the Mississippi. We had a life time of fun together.
