Robert Keith Lachnit was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, August 11th while his wife Denise Huerta Lachnit and son Evan Joseph Lachnit were by his side.
Robert, known as Keith his whole life and by everyone, was the beloved husband of Denise, father of Evan, brother of Michelle Wulfmeyer, brother-in-law of Bart Wulfmeyer, and uncle of Nathan Wulfmeyer.
Keith now joins his beloved parents, Robert William Lachnit and Betty Mae Lachnit in their heavenly home.
Keith was known as a fan favorite of everyone he met. He was known for his dry sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. Keith was also a very charming and intelligent man, who often impressed others at trivia night and eventually became known as a ringer for any team. Above all, Keith was known for his caring nature and impressive work ethic. He worked more than 40 years to support his family, working tirelessly to support both Denise and Evan.
In his free time, Keith loved the outdoors and nature. He spent much of his younger years fishing and exploring the outdoors. He also was an avid sports fan who loved St. Louis sports, especially the St. Louis Blues. He was so happy to see the team win their first Stanley Cup last June. He was also an avid racing fan, attending multiple races every year, including never missing an Indianapolis 500 from 1988 to 2019. The “Greatest Spectacle in Racing” held a special place in his heart.
And finally, Keith was a man of god. A member of Hope Lutheran Church – High Ridge for 65 years, where he was baptised and confirmed and then years later served as an elder at the church for two separate terms.
Services: Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Sunday, August 16, 4-8 p.m. Private services held Monday, August 17, at Hope Lutheran Church. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.
