Kenneth Eugene Smith, 67, of Barnhart, MO died peacefully on May 31st at St. Anthony’s Hospital after a short and valiant fight against lung cancer. During life he enjoyed golf, poker, bicycling, classic movies, telling terrible jokes, and Cardinal baseball. Above all else, Ken enjoyed spending time with his family. Ken recently retired from his position as the Director of Purchasing for Kemper Insurance Company where he was instrumental in successfully negotiating real estate contracts. Ken is survived by his children Angel (Mark) Magasano and Kenny (Dustina) Smith, grandchildren Kenny Smith, Nicholas Magasano, and Danielle Magasano. Ken was the beloved brother of Don Smith, David Smith, Terry Griffin, Larry Smith, and Michael Wisely. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife Barbara Smith. Ken will be presented for visitation on Sunday, June 4th from 4 – 8 pm at Kutis Funeral Home located at 10151 Gravois Rd, St. Louis, MO 63123 followed by a celebration of life at Sappington Lounge, 11569 Gravois Rd, Sappington, MO 63126. Services will will take place at noon on Monday, June 5th at Kutis Funeral Home followed by a burial service at Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ken’s charity of choice, the ALS Association of St. Louis.
