In Loving Memory

Kempf, Mary Genevieve (nee Boul)

Baptized into the hope of Christ’s Resurrection on Tuesday, October 29th, 2019 at age 94, leaving this earth quietly in her sleep to be with our Lord and Savior.

Born in St. Louis, MO on January 9, 1925, Mary was the beloved wife of the late Frederick R. Kempf. She was a loving mother to Fred (Beth), Fr. Joe, Dennis, Fr. Bill, Walt (Peggy Duffield-Kempf) and Mary (Jim) Holtmann.

Grandmother to Jessie, Anna and Marta (Chris); Peter and Grace; Mikayla and Katherine; and Drew and Ben Holtmann.  Great-grandmother to Calvin Cacioppo, and another on the way.

Sister to Sr. Rita Boul, CCVI, the late Rev. Walter Boul, Doug (Dot) Boul, Theresa Marie Boul, and Joseph (Nancy) Boul, Theresa Marie Boul. Neighbor, aunt, cousin, friend and co-conspirator.

Mary was a stay-at-home mom dedicated to making sure her children knew the sacredness of the short time we have on earth, encouraging us to live meaningful lives.  Deeply compassionate, she was moved by those less fortunate in this world.  For example, mom loved to feed anyone who showed up at her door and cared about ALL who were hungry.  Like Jesus, Mary comforted the afflicted, and, afflicted the comfortable as she fought against things she thought were wrong in this world – especially in the seminal years of the Pro-Life movement.

Mary lived a long, meaningful life with passion and humility, and took great delight in all of her children, their children, and those still to come.
