Rose-Johnson

In Loving Memory

Johnson, Rose Marie

Born in Belleville, Illinois on December 22, 1928.  Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.

Loving mother of Renee (Tim) Jerry and Tony (Dawn) Johnson; dearest grandma of Nicole (Kevin) Moreland, Nathan (Michelle) Neumann, Neal (Taryn Shaw) Neumann, Autumn Johnson, Olivia Johnson and Jack Johnson; dear great-grandma of Ryleigh, Kaia, Alaina, Cooper Moreland, Nolan and Adelaide Neumann; dear sister of Joseph and Jerome Brutto and the late Helen Neff and Barbara Gombert; dear daughter of the late Walter and Cecelia Brutto; our dear aunt, cousin and friend of many.

Rose was a Nurse Anesthetist for over 30 years, working at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, TX, and St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, IL. She loved to travel and after her retirement, worked as a tour guide for Sunshine Holidays and the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows. Rose loved all things in nature and wildlife; and was an avid birdwatcher. She was a volunteer at the St. Louis Zoo for many years. She touched countless people’s lives with her compassion and humor; her laugh was infectious. Above all, Rose loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren meant the world to her. She will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the St. Louis Zoo or the World Bird Sanctuary (in Valley Park) appreciated.

Visitation Wednesday, December 1, 10:00 a.m. until Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of all Saints, 6603 Christopher Dr. (Oakville). Interment  at later date.
