  3. I will always remember going over to Aunt Joanie’s house for Christmas Eve growing up.
    It was always memorable fun.
My family (especially the boys) will always have the ornament that their Great Great Aunt Joanie gave them for their 1st Christmas. 2 peas in a pod. So cute and it has its special place on the tree. ( high up so the boys can’t break it.) They were super excited when we got it out to place it on the tree. They love it knowing that Great Grandpa’s (Granpa-stine) sister gave it to them.
Side note-Chrissy’s aunt gave them an ornament too and so her family had to act like Chrissy’s aunt (their great aunt) gave them their first ornament. Well I bursted that bubble real fast by saying it was too late cuz their Great Great Aunt (Seniority) actually gave them their first ornament already.
Needless to say, I was the you know what for the day by the in-laws. Lol.
We Love You Aunt Joanie and the whole Family will miss you.

  5. Joan, you were so much more than my Aunt. You were like a big Sister to Me. I did so many firsts with you, you taught me how to tie my shoes. We wrote the same, got into trouble for always talking in school. Her and I are both left handed that alone explains so much. You were always my person that I turned too, I will miss you deeply. Give our Family a big hug from me, let them know that I love them. Until we meet again Joni.

  7. Joan was very special to me. I can’t even put into words. She was more than my friend. I didn’t have family living in St Louis and she helped me out so much with my daughters when they were young. She always invited us to her home for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter to spend with her sweet family so we didn’t have to be along for the holidays. She and Mr. Bob came visit us when we lived overseas. She was my shoulder to cry on during bad times. I could go on and on. I am living with my family now. But I will celebrate her life with all my memories since I can’t attend her funeral mass. Rest in Peace my sweet Joan.

  11. Bob and Janet, and family–we are so sorry to learn of the loss of your mother. How wonderful to know that she loved Jesus and is with HIM and whole and rejoicing. It is a particularly painful loss when we lose our mothers. We share in your sorrow and grief, and rejoice with you because of our shared HOPE. Praying for comfort for all of you in the days ahead.

    Much Love,
    Nathan and Paula Bachelder

  15. Joan you were a special lady . There are so many wonderful memories I have of grade school, high school and Girl Scouts that are so special. One sad memory was when you fell off the slide at Forder School and broke your arm, I felt so bad for you. We continued on to high school having classes together. There are lots of things to write snout but space is limited.
I know you are in a much better place now and with all your beloved family that has gone before. No more pain Joan, Rest In Peace. You will be missed by so many.

  17. I couldn’t have asked for a better neighbor and friend! she made Gerry and our move to the Midwest a wonderful experience! she introduced me to the garden club ladies and I guess I passed the test because they invited me to become a member. Joan also enjoyed time with my grand children and we had a great time at the pool. She was the mayor of the neighborhood if you wanted to know anything about what was going on you just had to call Joan because she had the answer we had some wonderful times together and she will be sorely missed! my love andprayers go out to you and all of your family

  21. I always called you Mrs John’s during H.S years with Laura. You always had a smile on your face. But if you didn’t like what you heard from us there was that smirk and the eyes just looking at us. : )
telling us to behave and stay out of trouble when we would go out.
Loved seeing all the pictures of you on FB as the years have passed. Always looking beautiful.
Our sincerest condolences for the entire family and friends.
