In Loving Memory

Jeske, Venneta Violet

Venneta Violet Jeske, born November 4, 1925, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 21, 2020.

Beloved wife of the late Leonard William Jeske; loving mother of Gary, and Larry (Pat); grandmother of Kim (Rusty), Christopher, and Kevin; dear sister of Allen; dear Aunt, and Friend.

The oldest of four children born to Emil and Elsie Henslin of Princeton, Wisconsin. Growing up on a farm and being the only girl with three younger brothers, she attained her cooking skills.

Venneta enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and tending to her plants. Her family always enjoyed her home-cooked meals, and her cookies at Christmas time were especially popular. Her grandchildren always grabbed a few cookies from the cookie jar on their way out the door.  She was quite skilled at cultivating her flowers to bloom at  special times of the year.

We know she is appreciative of Gary for his unselfish dedication in taking care of her in her later years.

There will be no public service, interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. If you wish to honor Venneta’s memory, please make a donation to a local food pantry to provide food for someone else’s table, or a charity of your choice.

  3. Dear Jeske Family: Our memories of Vanetta are rich and colorful. We so enjoyed visiting with her at the many family gatherings we attended at Pat and Larry’s home. She was a wonderful, polite and very fun person to be around. Gary will never forget the Thanksgiving dinners, with the wonderful desserts (and bourbon). We are so sorry for your loss, but find comfort in the fact that Vanetta is no longer suffering and she has been called home to Jesus.
