Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Clyde, and her brother Ferdinand and his wife, Bert. Geraldine ‘’Gerry’’ was born on January 6, 1926, in St. Louis to Ferdinand and Mathilda Litsch (nee Schmitt). She married Clyde on October 8, 1949, and they set forth on building a family that would grow into one of the most tightknit, loving families one would ever meet. Gerry loved to laugh, smile, play games and spend time with her cherished family. You could regularly catch her at the bingo hall laughing with her friends, hoping to win the big jackpot. Her faith in the Lord never wavered, and she instilled within her family that same faith, which has carried on through the generations. Her kindness and compassion always showed through, and she constantly had a positive outlook on life. Gerry is survived by her seven children, Matthew, Curtis, Craig (Diana), Cathleen (Charlie) Swoboda, Cheryl (John) Devine, Christine (Al) Benedick, and Carla (Rick) Schumm, her 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

We thank the Simply Home Care ladies who lovingly and compassionately took care of Gerry during her last years. Gerry belonged to the 50+ Clubs of St. Martin of Tours and St. Andrew Parishes as well as American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary #162.
