In Loving Memory

James, William “Bill” Darrell Sr.

 William “Bill” Darrell James, Sr, 80, of Arnold, MO, died March 4, 2019 in Arnold. He was born January 10, 1939, in Hurricane, MO to Mabel (Yount) and Roy James. Bill proudly retired with over 20 years of military service. He spent time in the active U.S. Army, the Army National Guard and the Air National Guard.  His most notable military achievement was becoming a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division with jumps in multiple countries around the world.  Mr. James also retired with over 28 years of accident-free driving with UPS; he was one of the first drivers to receive this recognition. As a public servant, he served multiple years as a board member and board president for the Arnold Water Board.  His greatest achievement in public service was the repainting of the infamous Arnold Water Tower. Bill is survived by two sons: Bill James, Jr. and wife Renee of Huntington Beach, CA, Bryon James and wife Melissa of Hillsboro; three grandchildren: Jessika James of Lackland AFB, Tylor and Alex James of Hillsboro; three great-grandsons: Nathaniel James, Sawyer James and Aiden Grady; sisters Norma Kalal, Colleen Cook, and Audrey Hanners, brothers Jim Dowd and wife Ruth, CJ James, and Billie Jo James and wife Patty, in addition to many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 7th from 4:00 – 8:00pm and Friday, March 8th from 8:30am – 9:00am. The funeral service will begin Friday, March 8th at 9:00am.  Interment will immediately follow the funeral at Jefferson Barracks. The visitation and funeral will be at Kutis Funeral Home 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to This Able Veteran (Carbondale, IL) in memory of William D. James, Sr.
