Huntley, Lela J.

Lela Huntley was born on September 20, 1954, to the union of Mr. William and Rhonda Daphine (nee Hawes) Hurley.  Lela was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and primarily raised on the south side of St. Louis throughout her lifespan. Lela was a stay-at-home mother / wife.  Lela’s proudest moments were being a mother and grandmother.  Lela has two sons: Phillip Lee Stewart Jr. and Derrick Lamar Stewart.  One daughter Nugwona “Nikki” (Clifton) Davis, 8 grandchildren: India (Davis) Cooper, Haiya Davis, Clifton Davis III, Derrick Stewart, Julian Buckley, Darion Stewart, Destiny Stewart, Phillip Stewart.  Two great grandchildren: derrick Cade Jr. and Isaac Cade.

Lela was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings: Linda Sue Spence, Verna Dean Yates, Joyce Hudson, Stanley Hurley, Sharon Hurley, Rodger Hurley, and her beloved husband Ellie Huntley.

Lela leaves to cherish her memory her beloved siblings: Pat Simms, Rhonda Lee Hurley, and Herman “Sonny” (Virginia) Hurley.

Lela adored all her family and friends.  Lela would speak daily with her siblings over the phone.  She also adored her many nieces and nephews who she spoke with on the phone and saw in person on a regular basis her niece Michelle Hurley.

Lela has touched numerous lives; she will be truly missed by everyone.

Funeral from KUTIS CITY CHAPEL on Monday August 8, at 11:00 AM.  Interment St. Matthew Cemetery.  Visitation Sunday 1:00 to 4:00 PM
