Hoehl

In Loving Memory

Hoehl, John K.

On Sat., Jan. 21, 2023. Loving husband of Kathy Hoehl (nee Brucker); beloved father of Theresa (late Tim) Hendrickson, Mark (Zaya) Hoehl and Michelle (Mike) Heidenreich; cherished grandpa of Sophia; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

John grew up in south St. Louis City making lifetime friends.  It was important to him to stay in touch with those friends.  You never knew when he would drop by for a visit or call you.  He was interested in meeting new people and learning about where you were from and the community where you lived.  He graduated from Cleveland High School.  Over the years, he worked at Laclede Gas, Concordia Publishing, Colonial Bread and Lewis Bakeries (Bunny Bread).  After retiring from Bunny Bread, he enjoyed his retirement by spending many hours at the family’s country house in southeast Missouri or going on road trips.  In the early days of his retirement, he volunteered at Queen of All Saints School.  Presently he was a Board Member of Cleveland High School Alumni Association and member of the Cleveland Lunch Bunch.

Services: Funeral at Kutis So. Co., 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., on Friday, January 27, 9 a.m. Interment J.B. National Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christian Friends of New Americans, Restoration House STL or K9s for Warriors.

  3. Kathy and family,
We are saddened to learn of our dear friends passing. John and I were next door neighbors at birth and he was my first friend. Our friendship endured the decades as we maintained a close friendship, visiting when possible and keeping up on one another’s lives. John was proud of his family and always interested in the welfare of ours. I will forever remember his kindness and the life experiences we shared. Our deepest sympathy to Kathy and family.
    R.I.P. John,

John was a wonderful man will miss seeing him on the lawnmower or siphoning the acorns off the sidewalk, street, and lawn. Always friendly and cheerful. Will miss you John

  7. John was a year ahead of me at St. John’s and Lutheran South. He was usually matched up against me in church league basketball practice and gave me fits being 4” taller. But we had fun. Always wished we had stayed in touch. Prayers for the family.
