Hinck, Emily J. (nee: Rund)

Fortified with the  Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2017.

Born October 13, 1932 as the beloved daughter of the late Dr. Emmet and Emily Rund.  Loving wife of John (Jack) M. Hinck, who passed in 1985.  Devoted mother of Emily Schenk, Bob (Jan) Hinck, Peggy (John) Goldkamp and  Patsy (Mark) Bieg.  Dearest grandmother to Jennifer, Ashley, John, Allison, Monica,  Aly, Rob, Caroline, Natalie, Lauren and Charlie.  Emily was preceded in death by her brothers, William and Jack Rund, and her infant daughter, Emily Jane. She was a beloved sister-in-law to Lois Rund, a  loving aunt, and cherished friend to many. Emily was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the  pleasure of knowing her.

Emily attended Villa Duchesne High School and earned a BA in Sociology from St. Louis University in 1954. She enjoyed  traveling, following the news, discussing current events,  shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. Emily will be remembered for her sparkling green eyes, beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and her steadfast devotion to the  Catholic faith. She thanked God for her life’s many blessings and trusted in Him to endure the challenges and hardships

Emily donated her body to St. Louis University Medical School.  A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6th at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 6303  Nottingham Ave., St. Louis, MO 63109, with visitation from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
