(nee Newmann), age 97.  Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Thursday, December 29, 2022.  Beloved wife of the late John C. Herget; loving mother of Barbara (Joe) Eulberg, Jim Herget, Bob (Jeanie) Herget, Pat (Robert) DuFaux, Joan (Bob) Terry; dear sister of George, Kenneth and the late Roy, Ralph, Donald, Joseph Newmann and Evelyn Keller; dear sister-in-law of Regina and the late  Jacqueline, Bonnie, Marie and Karen Newmann and Richard Keller. Preceded in death by her parents George and Frances Newmann; proud grandmother of eight; loving great-grandmother of fourteen; dear aunt, cousin and friend of many.

Widowed at an early age, Mary worked hard to care for her family.  She loved all kinds of office work, at which she excelled.  Among the things she enjoyed were a room full of music, dancing, road trips, baseball games, needlework, observing nature, and good company. Mary was blessed with a large loving family, good neighbors, and many friends.

Visitation on Wednesday January 4th:

Family:  3-4 PM

Public:  4-8 PM

Funeral Mass Thursday, January 5th, 10 AM at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (4200 Ripa 63123). Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

  1. Dear family of Mary Louise, I remember Mary Louise very well. I know that my mother, Lorraine Finley adored Mary Louise. I remember their many visits together and Mary Louise lit up the room when she arrived. She was great at making my mother laugh and such a fun loving person. I’m sure they are giggling and still great pals in the great beyond. Blessings o each of you as you say goodbye.

  3. Aunt Lou will be missed by all of us! I have such good memories of being at Grandma and Grandpa Newmann’s house hanging out with everyone! So sorry to hear of her passing! Please accept our prayers and condolences even though we cannot be there. The Konzelmans (Julie)
