Henz

In Loving Memory

Henz

Henz, Katherine (nee Vujnich)

Thurs., June 16, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Steven “Svetozar” Henz, dearest mother of the late Steven Novica Henz, and Sonja (Jack) Anderson of Cottleville, Mo., loving grandmother of Alexander and Victoria Anderson of Cottleville, Mo., and dearest sister-in-law of the late Helen “Jelena” Henz of St. Louis. Along with her parents, Jovan and Milija Vujnich, she was preceded in death by her seven siblings.

Katherine was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church. She was resolute in her faith and worked tirelessly for the church in numerous board positions including as its first woman president. She used her keen business and financial skills to also serve as vice president, treasurer and financial secretary, and was president of the KOLO women’s organization more times than anyone could count. If there was a need, she stepped up and took charge. She held dear the traditions of the Serbian Eastern Orthodox faith and worked to instill the love of those traditions to the church’s younger generation, in hopes of them continuing.

As a wife and mother, she held her family close to her heart, loving them dearly. She worked hard her entire life and retired from her bookkeeping night job at 86. She never had an unkind word for anyone. Her family and handful of remaining friends will miss her, greatly.

Services: Visitation Wed., June 22, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., (Pomen 7 p.m.) at Kutis City Chapel, 2906 Gravois, St. Louis, 63118. Internment Mount Hope Cemetery, 1215 Lemay Ferry Rd., St. Louis, 63125.

Memorial contributions to the International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC.org); World Central Kitchen (WCK.org); or the Holy Trinity’s KOLO organization, 1910 Serbian Dr., 63104, are appreciated.
