Born in Kansas City, MO February 27, 1952, to Burton and Mildred (Harrington) Haskins, Jr., Phil was raised in Prairie Village, KS where he made lifelong friends.

He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and following, had a long and successful career as a mainframe engineer where he worked on the leading edge of program architecture.

Phil answered the call to serve God, getting a masters degree in theology at Christ Seminary – Seminex in 1981. He was ordained in the Anglican Episcopal Church. For more than 30 years he lead his congregation in Jesus’ teachings. Phil provided loving guidance and compassion to many people in a variety of life’s circumstances.  He rejoiced with them at weddings and baptisms.  He shared their sorrow during times of sickness and in death.

With a passion for fine woodworking throughout his life, Phil became an expert woodworker and eventually turned to full time work in creating everything from wine cellars to custom designed cabinetry. Along with creating the most beautiful pieces of furniture, he helped foster a community of gifted woodworkers spreading throughout Saint Louis and beyond.

Phil loved people. He was always willing to take the time to listen, always willing to help in any way he could. He was a creative person with an artist’s eye for design. He loved to listen and sing along with Bob Dylan. And he loved his family and friends without limit and without fail, always encouraging us to be our best.
