  11. I worked with Darren for 20 years, and many colleagues and I were very saddened to hear of his passing. Darren often talked of family: parents, brother and sister, aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces, and of course his dogs. But mostly, Darren talked of Cody and Nathan. You were the center and most important part of his life, and he felt extremely blessed to have both of you in his life.

Darren made significant contributions at work. His ability to devour technical manuals is unmatched. He could read a detailed specification once and understand it, while it would take other engineers hours and hours to grasp the same material. Darren was always interested in learning about the latest and greatest technologies. He was greatly respected by our customers and fellow-employees for his expertise in water chemistry control.

Darren also shared with fellow engineers an enthusiasm for Harry Potter, Dr. Who, and the Three Stooges (he even named our network servers Curly, Joe, Shemp, Moe, and Larry-Fine!). Darren loved a great joke and had an infectious laugh. At company parties, he would be the only adult at his table surrounded by kids who begged for his attention. He was happiest when surrounded by kids.

Darren, you were a good friend and you will be missed. Rest in peace.

  15. Darren treated me as his son which is why I seen him as a father, nobody else really liked me, cared about me. They were all fake pretended to care but there true colors show when I’m gone but Darren wasn’t like that he was always honest and genuine with me so I loved him, I can’t even say that about anyone else. He helped me get out of one of my darkest time. And the fact that I couldn’t go even those I was one of the closest to him.. hurt.
