  Beloved husband of the late Jeannine Gorla (nee Navratil); dearest dad of Karen (Steven) Schott, Gary (Cindy) , Mark (Stacy) Gorla and Debra (James) Piel; dear grandpa of Eric, Andrew (Andrea), Ryan Schott, Christine (Nathan) Hartmann, Josh, Nathan, Sarah Piel, Jack and the late Melissa Gorla; great-grandpa of Anastasia, Genevieve Schott and Viktor Hartmann; dear brother of the late Joseph (survived by Agnes) Gorla; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend of many.

Charlie was a Union Carpenter for over 50 years.  He loved wood working and made wooden toys for Children’s Hospital.

Visitation Friday, January 29, 9:30 a.m. until time of Service 11:30 a.m. at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Rd. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.

    I was saddened to hear of Charlie’s death. I walked the mall with Jeannine for years and would hear wonderful stories of Charlie. His toy making for Children’s Hospital was admirable. May he rest in peace.

  7. My husband and I had the privilege of being Mr. Charlie, as my grandchildren called him, neighbor for 20 years. He was kind and just a genuinely nice man. We will truly miss him. Rest in peace my friend. And to his children and their families, we are so sorry for you loss.
