  7. Much love and heartfelt condolences to Josh and Holly in the sudden loss of their father. Clive was looking forward to another trip to England – I am so sorry that he won’t be able to see Blanche one final time. I suppose with COVID, it just wasn’t meant to be.
Uncle Clive was so committed to his family both here and abroad. I will miss his British accent and dry sense of humor. I will miss hearing him say: “Well Helloooooo Laura” when I call on the telephone – I could never surprise him since he had caller ID. He adored his family and his grandchildren! He took meticulous care of his beautiful home. It was a small blessing that he fell cleaning the deck instead of falling ill with the virus that may have left him alone and isolated during his final hours. Clive was a man of faith and had a giving heart. We are sorry that we won’t be able to make it to Jefferson Barracks in order to salute this Patriot one final time but we will be there in spirit.

  25. Saddened by the loss of Clive. Knew him only from Facebook and our wonderful group of people. Deepest sympathy to Kathy and all Clive’s loving family. This beautiful poem is for you:

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle shower of rain
I am the fields of ripened grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight.
I am the stars that shine at night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there —I did not die.

Although I had never met him, except through our EX-PAT group, he became one of my friends, with our many chats and confidences. He was one of my biggest encouragers when I was ill, I so wish that I had been able to return the favor. I will personally miss him, and I know all our group will miss this true gentleman.
