(nee Hempel) Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Beloved wife of George Fitzwater for 40 years; loving mother of John Kayser, Tom (Lisa) Kayser, Amy (Fred) Stuckel; adoring grandmother of Jamie, Jason, Abby, Maddy, Ellie, Ellie, Trey and Peter; dearest great-grandmother of Haylie and Tyler; loving  sister of Larry and Paul Hempel; dearest aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Cookie was proud of her career as a Human Resource Director of several banks  throughout St. Louis. She volunteered her time to many organizations, such as the Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary and the College Club. Many of Cookie’s fondest memories were spent walking the beaches of Manasota Key, FL with her best friend, George.  She will be forever loved and dearly missed.

Services: Visitation at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Rd., Tuesday, February 6, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will follow on Wednesday, February 7, at St. Clement Catholic Church, 1510 Bopp Rd., Des Peres 63131 at 1:00 p.m. Private  interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary, The Angel Band Project or Our Little Haven appreciated.
