Favazza

In Loving Memory

Favazza, Kathleen P.

Kathleen passed away fortified by the sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on June 21, 2022 surrounded by her loving parents, Elaine and Mariano, and siblings Anne, Christopher and Jennifer (Craft), Michael and Kristen (Kountzman), Joseph, Richard, Paul and Matthew, and her Aunt Connie and Uncle Mark.

Kathleen was the loving aunt of Elsie, Genevieve, Mason, Oscar, Elijah, and Juliana Favazza.

Kathleen was the niece of Theresa (Favazza) and Richard Moser, Matthew Favazza, Louis and Sandy Favazza, August and Teresa Favazza, Rosina (Favazza) and Gerald Palmer, Robert and Gretchen Dickherber, Betty Dickherber, Irby and Linda Dickherber, Thomas and Margie Dickherber, Harold and Ida Dickherber, Mary Lou Dickherber, Connie and Mark Wilson, John and Becky Dickherber, Karen and John Kinamore, Kathleen and James Moore.

Kathleen was a graduate of Benedictine College and earned her Master’s degree at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.

For many years Kathleen taught vocal music and inspired students as an adjunct professor at McKendree University and Southwestern Illinois College. She later became a paralegal providing invaluable work for Anderson & Gilbert. Most importantly, Kathleen was a kind and generous person.

Kathleen brought joy to hundreds of people who heard her sing with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus and at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows. Kathleen’s voice was heard at Carnegie Hall and by Pope John Paul II at the Vatican; she had the voice of an angel and has now joined them.

Words fail to express how much she is loved and will be missed, until we meet again.

Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Sunday, June 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. A gathering for prayers at Kutis on Monday June 27th at 9:00 am, Funeral Mass at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 6303 Nottingham, St. Louis, MO at 10:00 am, burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

  5. Kathleen was one of the kindest and most sincere people ever! She was also one of the funniest and very quick witted. I went to SIUE with her and in recent year was fortunate enough to reconnect with her through a mutual friend and through Our Lady of the Snows Shrine. What a loss for those who knew and loved her but it’s truly Heaven’s gain. I pray for her family and friends, that in the coming weeks and months God will wrap you in His comfort and give you peace.

  15. Deepest Sympathy to Kathleen’s family for their great loss. Kathleen had a beautiful voice and a very warm personality. I heard her sing often at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows where I attend Mass. She is with God in heaven now and may you all be given strength by God to get through this most difficult time.

  19. Mariano & Elaine ….

My condolences to you on the passing of your Daughter, Kathleen.

I was truly saddened when I scanned the OBIT. Parents should not be burying their children.

But, Mariano & Elaine, Love is immortality. Love is one. Love is the whole. Love is an endless sea that you fall into. And once you fall into it, you can’t fall out.

All that we love deeply becomes a part of us. Your Kathleen is gone from your sight, but never from your heart. May the cherished memories of your Kathleen, and the love of family, continue to surround you and give you strength in the days and years ahead.

My thoughts and prayers are with you to assuage the grief of your family – BUT – Grief never ends .. it changes .. it’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of Faith – It’s the price of Love.

May memory of Kathleen be eternal — I’m sure God’s Heart was the first of all your Hearts to break.
