Eckerle, Theresa Evelyn

Theresa Evelyn Eckerle (nee Wieland), of St. Louis and Washington, MO passed away on April 25, 2021. Daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (nee Haefele) Wieland. Theresa was united in marriage to Herman Eckerle. After his passing, she married Glennon Kopp.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings Paul and Leonard Wieland, Joan Lewis, and Ann Zekoll. Among her survivors are children Susan Eckerle, Herman Eckerle and wife Rebecca Pister; grandson Ethan Pister; siblings Patricia (Charles) Vander Pluym and Donald Wieland; cousin Roy Wieland; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Theresa was a devout Catholic and at the time of her passing was an active parishioner at St. Martin of Tours in St. Louis and St. Francis Borgia in Washington, Missouri. In her spirit of service, Theresa was an active volunteer throughout her life with many organizations including 4-H, Boy Scouts of America, Meals on Wheels, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and many more. Theresa also cherished time talking and visiting with family and loved ones. She will be dearly missed and remembered.

Virtual Visitation: Tuesday, May 4 th at 11:00 A.M. Mass of Christian burial will be live streamed and available for replay at: stmartinoftours.com. Internment at Mount Olive Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

  11. What a great lady!! Theresa was at St. Vincent Home in Normandy, Mo. as I was. She wrote me about her experience there after reading my book about THE HOME titled: Morsels of Mischief. I am so sad to learn she passed. I wanted to talk with her about that time.
