  7. Dear Barb, family and friends,

You have my heartfelt sympathy – Emil’s passing is a great loss and I will miss him. Emil was a great friend to the Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments. He found delight in making sure kids in our community who are blind or visually impaired received the services they need to thrive. I’ll always remember Emil’s smile and his big heart for our kids.
    Rest in peace, Emil.

I not only enjoyed working with Emil but loved every moment of knowing you both. You were the couple we all admired and loved. I still remember the time Emil and I hoped on a golf cart to cheat our 5k run and will miss him dearly!!!!!!!!

  15. My heart is broken for Barb and Emil’s family. Emil was taken from us too soon. He was my teammate at Norman-Spencer for the past 12+ years, and work for me will never again be the same without him. I learned so much from him over the years, and I always enjoyed him calling me and regaling me with all kinds of stories about his life, whether it was about insurance or fishing or hunting or the opera or just about anything else. I think he knew a little bit of something about just about everything! Sometimes I groaned when I saw his call come in, because he knew how to push for what he wanted, but it helped me grow and kept me on my toes. I know he adored and cherished Barb, and their little dog, Roxie, too. How am I ever going to “skin griz” without you, partner? I will miss you every single day.

  25. Barb and family. You have my heartfelt sympathy. you lost a great husband
and I lost a best friend. I know how you feel after losing my wife and there is nothing I can say that will make it better, but, keep your friends and family close in your time of grief. it doesn’t fix it but it will help.
I am now so glad I got to spend time with you both while I was in St. Louis. one more memory to remember. If I can do anything just ask.

Words are too weak to express my heartfelt sorrow for all on the passing of Emil. Although we had met only a few times, it was clear to me what a good, dedicated, thoughtful, and hard working man he was. He will be missed by all those fortunate enough to know him. I know he supported the St. Louis County Parks Foundation and therefore I am making a contribution to the foundation in Emil’s memory. May God bless all of you during this difficult period.

  35. Emil was a wonderful friend throughout our high school years and on. He was so much fun, had a quick smile that made anyone feel happy and special. We would run into him at fishing shows and some other events. We always commented that he would never change and that was said with good feelings. We wish the family well. He will be missed.
