Decker, Margaret Mary “Peggy”

(nee Schien)

Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, and surrounded by the love of her family, Margaret went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on August 2, 2019 at the age of 88.
Margaret is the beloved wife of Heyward “Bud” Decker.
Dear mother of Michael (Debbie) , James (Kathy) , Karen (Roland) Lettner, and Margaret.
Cherished grandmother of Tom, Jim, Margaret “Peggy”, Joe, Erika, and Katarina.

Margaret was born in St. Louis Missouri to Harry and Margaret Schien the oldest of 7 siblings. Preceded in death by dear brothers and sisters-in-laws James (Maryann), Harry “Bud” (Betty), and John. Survived by dear brother Robert, sisters Janice and Susan (Raymond) as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Margaret “Peggy” graduated from St. Mark’s high school, then worked at DePaul hospital. In 1951 Peggy married her teenage sweetheart Bud. Bud and Peggy lived in Puerto Rico while Bud was in the U.S. Air Force. After returning to St. Louis, Peggy and Bud worked at McDonnell Aircraft Company. When their children were born Peggy devoted her time to family and church by participating in many activities such as Brownies, Cub Scouts, Girl & Boy Scouts, St. Dismas Ladies Club, quilting and crafts. The children were blessed with having Mom at home while they grew up. Margaret passed away of natural causes related to Alzheimer’s.

Services: Funeral at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL 10151 Gravois Wednesday August 7, 10:00 AM. Interment J.B. National Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 4-8 PM.
