  35. I am without words hearing the loss of Nick aka “THE SHARK”. We had a weekend of all the boys at Charlotte raceway. He collected all the beer cans and lined them on the shelf. He loved to eat. But most memorable is that he had the opportunity to break wind on his dad’s face. He laughed so hard. I didn’t see him to much but he will never be forgotten and etched in my heart. Will miss you SHARK!!!!.

I have lost a loved one in this way and want you to know that there are those who feel this particular part of your pain and we support you and grieve with you. My student did not know your son, but I feel certain that SLU and the world world was better for the short time that Nick was in it. I wish you a grief journey that, even though unavoidably difficult, is also lightened by happy memories of Nick, of family closeness, and community support. I honor your courage and resolve. May you find comfort in the days ahead.

  69. Nick, you were in my first class when I went back to teaching. You were a sweet, funny and caring 7th grader and that’s saying a lot. You were kind to me when I felt awkward, laughing at my “dad jokes” when nobody else did. I will never forget you and I know I’m not alone in that.

  87. Nick was a really special kind of person. He had such a great impact on my life ever since we worked together at dominoes. He always had a place to crash and play videogames in my home after work and school. It’s just so strange that he has left us so soon, his life was just starting and he had everything lined up ahead of him it just doesn’t make sense to me at all. We hadn’t really been around each other as much since we both got girlfriends. I really regret not trying more to be a bigger part of his life the year before he left us. I had such a wonderful time with him over the years I knew him.
